The eyes have it in Italian politics after comely former beauty queen Mara Carfagna became Italy’s Equality Minister. It’s a bold appointment for PM Silvio Berlusconi, not least because he publicly confessed to fancying the one-time Miss Italy entrant and had to apologise to his wife. Carfagna is nicknamed “Mara La Bella” or “Beautiful Mara”, for obvious reasons.
