MANCHESTER |

Ithaca |
Manchester already has its fair share of trendy, hipper-than-hip bars where the glitterati and gorgeous types hang out, but Ithaca promises to inject a bit of edge into the equation. Named after the hometown of the legendary Odysseus, this promises to be a journey that doesn't take ten years to accomplish. Set over four floors, it will encompass Ithaca restaurant, which will specialise in Oriental fusion dishes and features personnel from Nobu and Nahm, the stylish Ikarus lounge bar and the exclusive members-only nightclub Helios. With opulent décor and a fantastic range of cocktails, there seems little danger that this won't make a substantial impact when it opens in May. |

The unofficial dress code promises to be the smartest of designer threads for guys and the coolest of slinky outfits for girls. Anything less would be an insult. |

Golden touch |

Ikarus, the lounge bar, promises to feature a 30 foot by 20 foot conch shaped oval bar made of black glass. If nothing else, it promises to be eye-poppingly stylish. |
